Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 19, 2026

PrintSizeChecker.com ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at https://printsizechecker.com (the "Site"), including the Print Size Calculator and Add White Border tools. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have. We keep it deliberately plain.

The short version

  • Your actual images stay private. When you use our tools, the image file itself is processed entirely inside your own browser. We do not upload, store, or ever see the contents of your photos.
  • We do record anonymous usage information so we can understand how the tools are used and improve them — including your approximate location (city/country), the file name, dimensions, and size of images you process, the print sizes and settings you choose, and timestamps.
  • We use a few standard third-party services — Google Firebase (to store the usage data above), Google Analytics (general site statistics), Google AdSense (advertising), and Cloudflare (hosting and security).
  • We don't sell your data, and you can contact us to ask what we hold or to request deletion.

1. Your images are processed in your browser

Our Print Size Calculator and Add White Border tools run client-side — that means the actual pixels of your photo are read, resized, and prepared for download entirely within your web browser, on your own device. The image file is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. When you close the tab, the image is gone from our reach — we never had it.

Important distinction: while we do not receive the image itself, we do record limited information about each use of the tool (see Section 2). For example, we log that an image named "beach.jpg" measuring 4000×3000 pixels was checked for an 8×10 inch print — but not the image itself.

2. What we collect

2a. Usage analytics (stored in Google Firebase)

To understand how the tools are used and improve them, we record the following each time the calculator or border tool is used:

  • Approximate location — your city and country. This is derived from your IP address; we use it only at the city/country level and to display general usage patterns.
  • Image details — the file name, pixel dimensions, aspect ratio, and file size of images you process, and (for downloads) the chosen print size, DPI, and a quality rating.
  • Tool activity — which tool you used, settings selected (e.g. border mode), page views, and timestamps.

This information is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), a Google Cloud service. It is associated with usage events, not with your name or account — we do not ask you to register or sign in, and we do not knowingly collect information that directly identifies you.

Note on file names: file names occasionally contain personal information (for example, "Sarah_wedding_2025.jpg"). We record file names only to understand tool usage. If you would prefer a file name not be recorded, rename the file before uploading, or contact us to request deletion.

2b. General website analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to collect aggregate statistics about site traffic — pages visited, general location, device and browser type, and how visitors navigate the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies and may process your IP address. See Google's practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

2c. Advertising (Google AdSense)

We intend to use Google AdSense to display advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at https://www.aboutads.info.

2d. Hosting and security (Cloudflare)

The Site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes limited technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the Site and protect it from abuse and attacks. See https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

3. Cookies

We and our third-party providers use cookies and similar technologies for analytics (Google Analytics), advertising (Google AdSense), and security (Cloudflare). You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some functionality. Where required by law, we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

4. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its tools;
  • Understand which features and print sizes are most used;
  • Display and measure advertising;
  • Keep the Site secure and prevent abuse;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to build personal profiles beyond the advertising cookies described in Section 2c.

5. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information:

  • If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR/UK GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing. Our lawful basis for the usage analytics and advertising described above is our legitimate interest in operating and improving the Site, and (for non-essential cookies) your consent.
  • If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
  • If you are in Australia (Privacy Act / Australian Privacy Principles): you may request access to and correction of your personal information.

To exercise any of these rights — including asking what we hold or requesting deletion — contact us at the email in Section 9. Because our analytics are not tied to your identity, please give us enough detail (such as approximate date, city, and file name) to locate the relevant records.

6. Data retention

We keep usage analytics for up to 24 months, after which it is deleted or aggregated so it can no longer be linked to an individual event. We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law.

7. International transfers

Our providers (Google/Firebase, Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Cloudflare) may process and store data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Contact

We aim to respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
